Join us for the 16th Annual Chalk Art Festival on Saturday, November 9, 2024, at Shaun Diamond Plaza in downtown Pomona! This vibrant event, organized by the Cultural Arts Commission, has a rich history dating back to 2007 when it first launched as a Chalk Walk event with the support of local community partners. In 2008, the festival rebranded to align with the Public Pomona Library’s Big Read event, further intertwining itself with literacy and community initiatives, such as the Together We Read series from the Pomona Unified School District and the Pomona Reads program.
The Chalk Art Festival transforms Shaun Diamond Plaza into a stunning outdoor gallery, showcasing the talent of professional artists alongside elementary, middle, and high school students. Every year, participants create colorful chalk masterpieces that invite visitors to walk through this artistic display. The festival continues to thrive thanks to the dedication of community partners, including Victoria Tessier from Pomona Unified School District, the Downtown Pomona Owner’s Association, The dA Center for the Arts, and many others.
